Have you put off making plans for a beach vacation this summer? No worries. Score great rates at fantastic beach properties before the next school year starts, and score points with your kids simultaneously. It’s a win-win.

Explore Tybee Island on those last, long days of summer. Sip coffee on the deck of your beach house to start the day. Swim in the Atlantic Ocean or the pool available at many of our properties. In the evening, enjoy stargazing and sunset strolls.

The world is your oyster, so to speak, during your Tybee Island vacation.

Tybee Island is home to more than three miles of gorgeous beaches. That means plenty of space for playing in the sand. Build a sandcastle and beachcomb for seashells. It’s easy when you rent beach chairs. Pack a cooler and enjoy your beach time.

Take a walk on the Tybee Island Fishing Pier and Pavilion. It’s an excellent spot for fishing and taking in the sights. In addition to that incredible view, the pier is a landmark, with the original structure constructed in 1891. Since then, the pier has been rebuilt and is now a popular meeting spot with picnic tables and public restrooms. Admission is free.

Experience the thrill of seeing dolphins in the wild with a boat tour. For 30 years, Captain Mike’s Dolphin Tours has offered dolphin tours, sunset cruises, and inshore charter fishing trips. The boat departs from the Lazaretto Creek Marina, taking passengers on an hour-long excursion to see dolphins in their natural habitat. Few things match the excitement of seeing those fins slice through the water. Even adults get giddy at the sight.

If you’re worried about the kids going through the “summer slump” in their education, take a beach ecology tour. Led by marine scientist/biologist Dr. Joe Richardson, the tours make learning fun as participants spend time exploring the beach and its inhabitants. It’s great for all ages.

Take it easy in the evenings with drinks on the porch or at one of the local watering holes. Catch a sunrise or sunset. Dive into the ocean. After all, you’re on Tybee time.

It’s not too late to book a great beach house, as some of our top rentals are still available. A Tybee Aloha is a two-bedroom property with beautiful marsh views from its spacious porch. The three-bedroom/two-bath Catch the Breeze property, located just 75 yards from the beach, offers an open layout, private balcony, and modern amenities. La De Da House with two bedrooms/two baths is the ultimate hideaway for beach lovers within walking distance of North Beach.

Make this the best summer yet with a last-minute beach vacation.
