Tragedy and Rebirth
After five decades of hosting a variety of entertainers, the pier was tragically destroyed by fire in 1967. Tybee Island would be without the beloved spot for 29 years. In 1996, the pier and pavilion were rebuilt in preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games.
Tybee Pier and Pavilion Today
32 years after being rebuilt it is known as Georgia's Peach of the Beach. This entertainment center is also a great place to fish, sightsee, or just relax.
