Labor Day celebrates the working men and women of America. And, goodness knows, 2020 has been a tough year all around. So, who is ready to take a well-deserved break?

Everyone, right? It’s time to breathe deep. Rest. Relax. Recuperate. Hey, maybe even have a Reset. We’d all go for that.

The upcoming three-day Labor Day holiday gives travelers the perfect opportunity to have an easy-peasy vacation. Set the first Monday in September, this year’s holiday falls on Sept. 7.

Savannah Music Festival

That also happens to be around the time of the rescheduled Savannah Music Festival. Because of the pandemic, the festival was re-worked as a fall music concert series. St. Paul & The Broken Bones, for example, are scheduled for Sept. 3 at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are set to perform on Sept. 11 at the Johnny Mercer Theatre. Other performances are scheduled through Nov. 11 and ticket prices vary. But check back for updates because, as we all know, change and adaptability are the only sure-things in 2020.

Apart from the music festival, a concert by multi-platinum band Shinedown is set Sept. 6 at the Savannah Civic Center.

While concerts and large gatherings may be in flux, some activities are ongoing. The Kenturah Davis “Everything That Cannot Be Known” exhibit continues through Dec. 13 at the SCAD Museum of Art. The Savannah African Art Museum re-opened in July.

Restaurants, shops and attractions are open, though some may have limited hours. Check here for an updated list.

Book a Stay in One of Our Vacation Rentals

Most importantly, you’ll want to choose comfortable, affordable accommodations where your family feels safe and secure. At Southern Belle Vacation Rentals, our goal is to make planning a getaway a stress-free experience. To that end, we’ve put additional protocols in place to ensure your peace of mind.

Whether you want to enjoy time in the quintessential Southern city of Savannah or kick back at the beach on Tybee Island, we have properties to fit the bill. Large groups, for example, can make themselves at home at a wonderful property on Whitefield Square, right in the heart of Savannah’s Historic District. The six-bedroom historic home has a wraparound porch, gourmet kitchen, game room with pool table and outdoor patio area with grill.

If you prefer an island holiday, check out the three-bedroom condo, Sunny on Seaside, that offers an ocean-view from the balcony. The Tybee Island vacation rental is accessible by elevator and is just steps from the beach.

We know we’re sure ready to enjoy a holiday. How about you?
