But fall events feature more than blood and gore. Take a Halloween Hike at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center from 5-8 p.m. on Oct. 14 and 15. Trick or Treaters walk a forest trail to meet friendly animal characters who pass out goodies.
Another family-friendly event is the first-ever Forsyth Park Costume Crawl at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30. Dress up in your scariest costumes to win prizes for the best costume in several groups: best adult; best couples; best big kid; and best little kid. There is even a best pet costume award.
