Savannah is so much more than historic squares, beautiful parks and delicious dining. It is also an area that takes pride in its parties. This is an area that loves to entertain. With that in mind, check out three upcoming soirees sure to delight visitors and locals.

Tybee Island Wine Festival

The first of those happenings brings together two of our favorite things: Seafood and Wine. What’s not to love? The Tybee Island Wine Festival takes place April 30-May 2 as a fundraiser for the historic Tybee Post Theater. The Grand Wine Tasting is set at Memorial Park, with another Wine Tasting following in the Tybee Island Gymnasium. The Wine Fest spans five days of events, and in addition to wine tastings, local restaurants offer tasty bites of regional fare while local musicians performed live on the outdoor stage.

Savannah Hemp & Arts Festival

Then on May 15-16, the Savannah Hemp & Arts Festival takes place on May 15-16 at Daffin Park. The free, two-day fest promotes the emerging hemp companies of the Southeast. You can meet proprietors and see their products. The event is designed to help the public learn how hemp offers a wide range of benefits for wellness. Activities start at 4 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday, and go until 10 each night. They’ll be plenty of arts and crafts to peruse, as well as food booths. What’s a shindig without music? Of course, there’ll be live entertainment, including April B and the Cool providing a soulful concoction of funk, jazz, hip-hop and R&B.

Beach Bum Parade

Also on May 15, you’ll want to grab your best squirt gun and head to Tybee Island to kick off your summer season with the Beach Bum Parade starts at 6:30 p.m. It’s unusual, to say the least. Why a squirt gun? Well, this is really a huge water fight: parade floats vs. spectators. This event is a favorite with both locals and visitors. The parade goes all the way down Butler Avenue. Kids love it and so do adults who keep their sense of humor and don’t mind getting wet.

We’re proud to offer accommodations as unique as some of our festivities. In Savannah, stay in a carriage house or townhome facing one of those serene, spectacular squares. On Tybee Island, set up home base in a home with a pool or an ocean view. We’ll provide everything you need, you just relax and enjoy.
