Looking to spend a weekend with your love? Savannah, full of art, history, amazing food, and Southern hospitality is a great place to get away. Here’s our perfect weekend Savannah itinerary for couples:

Day 1

Day 1 is all about Broughton Street. Start your Savannah experience off the right way with breakfast at B. Matthew’s Eatery. Dive into Fried Green Tomato Benedict or the Salmon Hash. (Don’t worry, you’re sure to burn off all those calories during the day’s events.)

After breakfast it’s time to really discover the beauty and history of Savannah. A guided walking tour with Savannah Walks is the perfect way to get acquainted with the city as knowledgeable guides tell stories of Savannah’s past and present.

Once the tour is over stop by City Market, a four-block area full of art galleries, funky boutiques, and bistros with live entertainment. Try the Chicken & Waffle sliders or the Grilled Scottish Salmon BLT at Belford’s. After lunch check out the Telfair Museums which features three very different experiences that bring together the art, history, and architecture of Savannah.

Dinner at Churchill’s is the perfect way to end your first evening in Savannah. Locally sourced ingredients come together for a menu that is part pub fare (Bangers and Mash), and part local flavor (Paella). Add craft beer and a rooftop terrace and you have a fantastic end to your night.

After a full day, rest your heels and catch a ride back with a Pedicab.  Feel like a kid as your chauffeur pedals you through the streets back to your room to get ready for day 2 of your Savannah itinerary for couples.

Day 2 of your Savannah Itinerary for Couples

Start your day with breakfast at Savannah Coffee Roasters. This local favorite has been roasting and serving some of the best coffee in Savannah since 1909. Grab a cup or two and try a breakfast sandwich, fresh baked croissant or cannoli.

A few blocks away down Liberty Street you’ll find the “Sistine of the South”, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The famous French Gothic style cathedral is known for its intricate stained-glass windows and exquisite murals. Surrounding the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist are a few quaint squares you can explore.

Next stop, Forsyth Park. The 30-acre park is home to one of the most iconic picture spots in Savannah, an iron fountain installed in 1858. Explore the Fragrant Garden and various monuments or stretch out on the green.  On the south end of Forsyth Park, you’ll find a great place for an iced coffee and a panini, the Sentient Bean

The next must-see during your Savannah getaway must be Bonaventure Cemetery, this 100-acre Victorian Gothic style cemetery has been a famous tourist destination for ages. The tree-lined roads, unique cemetery sculptures and famous “residents” are just a few reasons it is such a popular destination. If you are hoping to check out the famous “Bird Girl” statue made famous as the cover of “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil,” you won’t find her. She has been relocated to the Telfair Museum.

Back towards Forsyth Park is your dinner destination. Local 11 Ten offers a contemporary atmosphere and Southern cuisine in the restored Old Savannah Bank building. Dishes such as Squab & Foie Gras and Seared Diver Sea Scallops by candlelight tops off the day with a little romance. Visit Perch, the rooftop bar overlooking Forsyth Park and offering designer cocktails and a sophisticated wine menu.
