During winter in Savannah, the weather is cool and mild, plus it's the off-season and there are no crowds! Winter is the perfect time of year to visit our beautiful city.

Head to Oatland Island Wildlife Center, the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge, or Savannah-Ogeechee Canal Museum and Nature Center. Or take a dolphin sightseeing tour at Tybee.


Immerse yourself in history with tours focusing on the civil war, revolutionary war or slavery. Experience Fort Pulaski and Old Fort Jackson.


Visit the Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, The Flannery O'Conner Childhood Home Museum, Owens Thomas House & Slave Quarters or the Davenport House. Love Girl Scouts? Tour the Andrew Low House or Juliette Gordon Low House. Visit the Ships of the Sea Museum for its collection of ship models. The Coastal Heritage Society oversees sites including Pin Point Heritage Museum, Savannah Children's Museum and the Georgia State Railroad Museum.

Art Galleries

The Jepson Center for the Arts and Telfair Academy both have wonderful art exhibits. (The Jepson also has a great interactive exhibit for kids.) There are countless galleries, including the Kobo Gallery, Liquid Sands Glass Gallery, Roots Up Gallery and the Art Market at City Market.


Among Savannah's popular sites are its cemeteries, including Colonial Park, Laurel Grove, and Bonaventure.


You can't visit Savannah without appreciating its architecture. Take a carriage tour or walk around for the best experience.
