This luxury vacation rental has four bedrooms and is ideally situated directly on Washington Square, considered by many to be Savannah's most beautiful residential square.

Washington Square Manor

Washington Square was originally laid out in 1790 with homes dating back to 1797 in the colonial style which was typical of Savannah homes built 200 years ago. The Washington Square Manor was built in 1899 and is one of the “newest” homes on the square. It was built in the classic Queen Anne Victorian style of the period. Washington Square was named in honor of George Washington, Revolutionary War general and first president of the United States. President Washington visited Savannah in 1791 and stayed at a home a few blocks over on St. James Square (now Telfair Square).

Washington Square is your picturesque front yard and features slate walkways bordered with native shrubs and a colorful array of flowering plants underneath a canopy of moss-draped old live oaks. The square is one of Savannah’s most popular spots for outdoor weddings year-round. On most weekends, it is fairly common to see brides being delivered to the square by horse drawn carriages.

Guests who stay in our Savannah vacation rentals often enjoy taking the short drive out to Tybee Island to spend a day lounging on the beach or exploring the island. The two main attractions, aside from surf and sand, are the Tybee Lighthouse and the Marine Science Center. The island is small and easily explored in a day's time. Make sure to take a meal at one of the many delicious waterfront restaurants.

The property is ideally situated in the northeastern quadrant of Savannah’s “Landmark Historic District” – one of the largest areas of its kind in America, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The property is located at the corner of two historic Savannah streets – East Bryan Street and Houston Street and within easy walking distance of the entire Landmark Historic District.

The home has a historic Savannah floor plan with a side-hall entrance and includes many original features such as plaster ceiling medallions in the living room and dining room, antique heart-pine floors, and plaster walls. The parlor has stunning views of the square and a gorgeous chandelier. The dining room has the companion chandelier and a large dining table for eight. The kitchen features a cozy seating area with one of the five HDTV’s found in the home. The kitchen includes a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, and double sink as well as granite countertops. In the rear, a charming brick courtyard awaits you and is ideal for your morning coffee or simply relaxing after a long day of Savannah sight-seeing.

The upstairs contains the master bedroom ensuite which overlooks Washington Square and has a balcony that runs the width of the home. The two additional bedrooms have access to a separate full bath with vintage fixtures. A permanent staircase to the third floor attic allows access to the fourth bedroom with a full bed and twin bed. The home sleeps up to nine guests comfortably.

There is a dedicated laundry room on the first floor, as well as a quaint powder room tucked under the main staircase. The ceilings throughout the house are high with crown molding in most rooms. There are five fireplaces with original Victorian period mantles.

This beautiful century home offers everything you could ever want in a luxury Historic Savannah rental combined with the perfect location. Live like a true Savannah native… If only for a short while!

Southern Belle Pool

Our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located on Tybee Island. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitemarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.

Guests with Pets

If you would like to bring along your dog(s) during your stay, we do have some pet-friendly properties allowing up to 2 dogs and the total weight cannot exceed 50lbs for a pet fee of $130. This notice is not an indication the home you are currently viewing is pet-friendly.

Long-Term Stays

For our long-term stays, 30 days or more, we require a deposit and our office will reach out to you for details. For 60 days or more long-term stays, we require an additional clean.

Amazing Savannah home on the Square

We loved our stay at this beautiful historic home. Although it was updated with all the modern amenities it had that old historic home feel. We especially loved being right on Washington Square as that added to the old southern charm. We walked out of our door and right into the square with 100 year old trees and old fashion benches. Knowing the history of Savannah we felt like we went back in time!

We loved the house on Washington square. This area was close enough to walk to pretty much anywhere we wanted to go in the historic and downtown district. The area was quiet and very well lighted at night. Someone from the rental company contacted us shortly after check in to make sure all was well. Very quick to respond to text about the pool on Tybee island. This was our first visit but won’t be our last! And have already recommended Southern Belle Vacation rentals to friends, we will use them again in the future. Great week with family.

Our stay at Washington Square was fantastic! The house was more than big enough to fit six people, and it had everything we needed. The washer/dryer was especially convenient. The lockbox was finicky and it would have been nice to have a new one, but otherwise everything was great.

The Washington Square Manor was excellent. You get the best bang for your buck with the size of this property and location. It's far enough from all of the noise at night, yet close enough that just a few minutes of walking can get you to anything you'd want. There was always a parking spot available in front of the property, even on Saturday night. The staff was very responsive when we thought there was a small problem (turned out to be nothing). We cooked breakfasts and lunches at the house, the kitchen is well equipped. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, however I'd be careful with children in the attic mid summer, it was very hot up there. Overall, it was a great stay and I highly recommend the property, and the Southern Belle rental company as a whole.

The house was in perfect location for the Rock n Roll Marathon start line. We enjoyed the easy walk to stores and restaurants. House was perfect for our needs for the weekend and our group size. Several common areas that could be used for hanging out, quite conversation, relaxing or watching tv.

The home was right on the square. Sitting on the balcony looking at the square having our morning coffee was one of our favorites. We felt right at home. The oak floors, beautiful staircase, cristel chandeliers were reminicent of the era. Plenty of towels, very clean. Only a block away from the river and quaint little shops. Walking to see the other squares and seeing the history and different architectural designs was just an enjoyable experience.

I have listed several things that I had to say about the property above. However if those issues were fixed I would definitely stay at this property again. The location is amazing and the house itself was nice.But it needs some maintenance. Especially when it comes to the patio railings and the front of the house railing-very unsafe.

It was the perfect size and had everything we needed. You could not beat that location though. We were a little out of the hustle which was perfect for relaxing in between outings but we were close enough that everything was within 15 minutes walking distance, including the river which was only 5 minutes away!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful historic home and have sweet memories of a week spent in Savannah. The location of the property is ideal for touring the city on foot...it is close to River St and to the historic district. We never had trouble finding metered parking and we purchased our parking passes at Bryan St Parking Deck. The check-in and check-out process was simple...the staff was professional and friendly. We loved Savannah and hope to return again sometime...the layout of the city is perfect for exploring on foot...we walked all week and only had to move our car to drive out to Tybee Island. What an awesome city and an awesome house!!

Nice kitchen but disappointed in kitchen housewares. Such limited cookware and no Pyrex or corningware to heat in microwave. 2 dish towels - really? We were informed of limited supplies and one towel per person - but feel a couple of extra towels would have been nice. I wanted to sweep up but no broom. We were informed of limited supplies but feel for such a minimal cost liquid hand soap in bathrooms a couple packs of laundry detergent would have been nice. Trash in alley was not picked up and overflowing. receptacle for property was not labeled well.. We enjoyed the property very much. Beautiful home, comfortable beds, nice linens and towels. Loved the location. We hope to be back in Savannah and we would be happy to do business again with you.

The only drawback was the floors at the property were filthy! After walking around the house, setting up and decorating for a few hours, we noticed the bottoms of our feet were BLACK. A normal amount of dirt is expected, but the fact that my feet were black was pretty disgusting.

We had a great weekend. The house is perfectly located. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We met many of the neighbors - Miss Jean Brooks and several other homeowners - very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed them and the small garden behind the house was a great place to kick up our feet after all our shopping and have a cocktail!

We had a wonderful stay at the Washington Square Manor. There was plenty of room for our family and we had everything we needed. It was more beautiful in person than in pictures. We will definitely be returning for our next stay in Savannah. The only negative is that there is little parking around the house so sometimes we had to park a couple blocks away, but this is typical in Savannah.
