Stay Next to Beautiful Forsyth Park in Savannah GA

Built in 1892 and designated a Historic Landmark in 1973, Southern Hall has all the charm of turn of the century architecture including ten and a half foot ceilings, hard wood flooring, eleven chandeliers, three decorative fireplaces, two porches, and a spacious courtyard. Once inside, you will be welcomed by a bright and roomy living room with two comfy sofas, a flat screen smart HDTV, gorgeous chandelier, and a decorative fireplace with antique brass andirons. Relax and enjoy a show or a chat with your housemates while on break from exploring Savannah. Attached to this room is the formal dining room with elegant padded chairs and bench seating. An oversized chandelier and ornately framed nostalgic oil painting add an aura of yesteryear to your dining experience.

Adjacent to the living room, you will find the well-equipped kitchen featuring a large baker's rack with dishes, convenient small appliances, and lots of cookbooks (the owner’s wife is a retired professional yacht chef!). Just outside the kitchen is an extremely luxurious and comfortable porch featuring a dining table and chairs for six which gives you the option of al fresco dining overlooking scenic Hall Street. A comfortable sectional and cocktail table create a wonderful lounging area to enjoy the sights and sounds of Savannah while relaxing with a drink and snacks or later with coffee and dessert.

The bedrooms in our Savannah vacation rentals will always make you feel right at home. Both spacious bedrooms feature super comfy king-sized beds, flat screen smart HDTVs, oil paintings, interesting accessories, decorative fireplaces, and large walk-in closets. The “Gold” bedroom features a Chinese wedding cabinet which is over two hundred years old and a Maitland-Smith table. The “Silver” bedroom has an outside porch with a settee and two rocking chairs overlooking the citrus trees on the porch next door. You'll love going outside in the morning or evening for a serene moment away from everything. The full bath has a tub-shower with plenty of water pressure.

The large courtyard features tables and chairs which can be configured into dining for ten or split into smaller intimate seating areas. No courtyard in Savannah would be complete without an angel statue. This one is five feet tall and completes the sublime feel of the courtyard. Your private off-street parking spot is just out the back gate.

Exploring the Historic District from Savannah Vacation Rentals

One of our many vacation rentals in Savannah, near Forsyth Park, is the Southern Hall Upper property. Just three blocks walking distance to Forsyth Park, this beautifully appointed rental has two bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms totaling 1,534 square feet. Located on one of Savannah’s most picturesque streets, this second-floor residence overlooks a lovely brick and cobblestone street with ample free on street parking. Hall Street features wide sidewalks which are tree lined with crepe myrtles, magnolias, and evergreens. Your private off-street parking space is located behind the courtyard at the back of the property off Hall Lane. This area of the Historic District boasts amazing restaurants, cute coffee shops, and the Kroger grocery store, which houses a Starbucks, is less than a block away.

Forsyth Park could be considered the hub of Savannah for both locals and tourists alike. On any given day it might be bustling with people walking, reading, playing sports, attending a concert or the Saturday farmer's market. It's the largest park in Savannah's Historic District and stretches over 30 acres with a northern border on Park Avenue to down south of Gaston Street. It then stretches east to Drayton Street and west to Whitaker Street. Staying in Savannah vacation rentals near Forsyth Park is sought after by visitors to Savannah for the picturesque location and easy walking access. Shopping in Savannah is another popular pastime for visitors. River Street is one of the top destinations as it is packed with galleries, gift shops and pubs. Another popular stop is City Market, which is also one of the top nightlife spots in Savannah. The market features four blocks of renovated retail and restaurant space, including jazz clubs, craft shops, cafes and more.

Many guests visiting Savannah find a trip to Tybee Island the perfect diversion in a busy stay. The little barrier island is located about 30 minutes to the east of Savannah by car. There you'll find a relaxing atmosphere of sand, warm breezes and waves. Besides laying on the beach, the top draws at Tybee are the lighthouse to the north and the marine science center on the southeast section of the island.

Southern Belle Pool
Our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located at 19 Silver Ave, Tybee Island, GA 31328. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitemarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.

Guests with Pets
This property is not pet-friendly. If you’re traveling with a dog, ask us about our pet-friendly properties that accommodate up to 2 dogs (50 lb combined weight max) for a $130 pet fee.

Long-Term Stays
For our long-term stays, 30 days or more, we require a deposit and our office will reach out to you for details. For these reservations, we require an additional cleaning at a cost every 30 days. The cleaning cost varies by property. Our office will be in touch to schedule.

Our accommodations were beautiful and looked just as the pictures showed. The king sized beds were very comfortable, and the a/c worked great to keep us nice and cool on the warm Savannah days. The area has a grocery store that is maybe a 3 minute walk from our street. We used a nearby dry cleaning service that was close by as well. Everything we needed was close to us. The Historic District was all very walkable, and we NEVER felt unsafe. Our front door lock went out, and someone came quickly to replace the batteries. (We were able to come inside by way of the back door, so we were not locked out.) Someone checked on us several times during the stay to make sure everything was ok and to let us know that, if we wanted to use the pool on Tybee Island, there would be traffic as there was an event that weekend on the island. We would need to plan our drive with traffic in mind. How nice to be informed of that!! I would 100% use Southern Belle Vacation Rentals again. This is a very professional company and has excellent employees!! THANK YOU Southern Belle!! My sister and I had a great stay!!

This place is beautiful! Had everything we needed for traveling with adults and children. Well appointed kitchen, ample closet space, huge living room. Laundry and the outdoor porch with couch and dining table were delightful. Comfortable beds, too! Easy parking, one block to the grocery store. There is a coffee shop a few doors down. And a 5min to Forsyth Park. Will definitely book here on our next trip!

My friends and I were very impressed with the Southern Hall Upper property. The rooms were decorated beautifully, clean, and very accommodating. It's exactly the vibe we were looking for to match the downtown Savannah tone. The grocery store is within walking distance, we were also able to walk to a great restaurant in Forsyth Park. Beautiful home with perfect location to walk everywhere. Wonderful neighborhood- coffee shop on corner, grocery store, and Forsyth park 2 blocks away. The decor was beautiful and we enjoyed the deck each morning and night. The beds were incredibly comfortable and I hope someone tells me what brand they are. I want my own! Probably my favorite rental to date! I wish I lived there!

This property is in a lovely neighborhood with people walking around all day. Very convenient to get anywhere. There is a Kroger around the corner which is so convenient. The property is comfortable, although not as elegant as the pictures, still has everything you will need.

Our stay was excellent! The accommodations are beautiful with quality furnishings throughout. The beds were very comfortable and everything was as advertised (or better). The location is perfect for walking anywhere in the historic district with pretty much anything you would want to see within a mile +/-. Forsythe Park is less than 3 blocks and Kroger is literally around the corner. We highly recommend Southern Hall Upper - and, in fact, have already begun doing so to several friends who are planning trips to Savannah in the next few months. Thank you!

Wonderful southern charm and just perfect for a peaceful stay in the Savannah Historic District. The unit itself was very comfortable and everything one needs. The air conditioning worked well even in the hot, humid environment outside. The outside Veranda was very nice, also. We loved having a coffee shop/deli and a Kroger in our same block while being within walking distance of the entire Historic District. Definitely recommend the upper Unit B or the lower Unit A!
