One of our great Savannah vacation rentals is Fountain View Cottage. This property has two bedrooms, one bathroom and a gorgeous courtyard complete with a water feature. The location is as convenient as they come with the historic district and Forsyth Park right nearby. There are also plenty of nice cafes and restaurants such as 700 Drayton and Local 11 Ten. The property is a short walk from downtown, Broughton Street and the famous River Street, which has plenty of its own great dining establishments such as The Olde Pink House and Vic's On The River.

History

Come inside Fountain View Cottage and enjoy a living room with plenty of seating and a well-stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook your own meals, plus conveniences like a microwave, tea kettle and coffee maker. Flat-screen TVs are in every room so you can keep up on your shows or have a movie night. Plenty of windows bring in the Savannah sunlight. The bedrooms are cozy with plush bedding and quaint decorations. Relax in the evening by stepping outside on the porch and enjoying the view. Make your way to Monterey Square and The Mercer House, which was built in 1860 and a big part of the well-known film and book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil." Part of the movie was filmed at the house and the Mercer-Williams House Museum is available to tour. River Street is another famous part of historic Savannah and it used to be the center of trade back in the late 1800s. Old cotton warehouses are now a vibrant community of restaurants, shops and bars. There are plenty of opportunities to shop in Savannah, whether on River Street with its boutiques and galleries, or on Broughton Street with a variety of brand name retailers and local favorites.

In the Area

A visit to Savannah would hardly be complete without stopping at Forsyth Park. Not only will you see the famous iron fountain landmark found in "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," but it is also a great place to walk, take children or spend a quiet afternoon with a picnic. Savannah is also the place for ghost hunters with plenty of old cemeteries and ghost tours to enjoy. Visit the Colonial Cemetery in the heart of downtown and explore six acres of old memorials. There's also a number of events and celebrations that go on in Savannah every year. Make sure to ask what events might be taking place during your stay.

Rate Information

Renting homes from Southern Belle is painless and professional. We take credit cards and require a $300.00 deposit to confirm the booking which is applied towards the remaining balance. For example, if your total is $1,500, we will take a $300 deposit and your remaining balance will be $1200. Thirty days prior to your arrival our booking software will charge the balance automatically. We also sell Traveler's Insurance which covers medical cancellations.

as I mentioned above..I'd recommend cleaning products that are without oder.. The refrig smelled heavily of Clorox when we arrived. The entire home had the lingering smell of what I think was "Tide" washing detergent. Suggest cleaning products with no odor. Maybe hand screens for the windows so they can be opened. The weather was so lovely during our stay but we couldn't open the windows to enjoy the fresh air because we didn't want bugs flying in.. Couch was very stylish but very uncomfortable. Other than that very enjoyable!!

Love the courtyard and fountain. Quiet and out of the way but accessible to the rest of town, easy walk to park, coffee shops and Saturday farmer's market. Comfortable beds and well-stocked kitchen and the whole place was very clean.

We really enjoyed the rental, especially the courtyard. We liked sipping on our coffee in the mornings in the courtyard. There house was very clean and had everything we needed for our short stay. We four ladies felt safe walking around, the locals in the area were really nice and steered us in the correct direction.

We walk to nearby restaurants, bars and down to the Riverwalk which was awesome and that everything was so accessible. The neighborhood was tucked back where it was quiet, it was a great place.

Very comfortable stay in a quiet location in a leafy residential neighborhood with on street parking. A short walk to Forsyth Park and very central for touring around the historical district and many great restaurants in the area. Neighbors very friendly. Property was very clean and maintained to a high standard. Has everything you would possibly need for a short stay.
