General George Marshall

One of our roomiest Tybee Island vacation homes is the General George Marshall property on the North End of Tybee between Pulaski Street and General George Marshall Boulevard. This property boasts five bedrooms, including one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, a bedroom with 2 twin beds, a bedroom with a queen and a twin bedroom, and another bedroom with bunk beds, and three full bathrooms, with one of them being a master. It has sleeping arrangements available for up to nine guests, so it's a great option for Tybee vacation rentals when you're bringing the whole family or even if you have two families vacationing together. The rest of the property includes a large porch area, a living room, den, and a gourmet kitchen. The bedrooms continue the light and airy theme and all are appointed with comfortable linens and blankets. You'll find standing showers and bathtubs available in the bathrooms. The outside lounging area is a relaxing tropical paradise with a roof, views of swaying palm trees and lots of seating to go around. Another unique aspect of this property compared to other vacation homes Tybee Island is the view of the Tybee Lighthouse, which is sure to be on your vacation itinerary!

Finding activities and events near your Tybee vacation rentals is almost as easy as simply walking out your door. The beach is never far away on this small island and is definitely the top draw for most visitors. You'll find that the North Beach is quieter than the other beaches. Along with the beach, the other main sights on Tybee are the Tybee Island Lighthouse and Museum, the Tybee Marine Science Center and Fort Pulaski. This particular property is close to the Tybee Lighthouse on the north side of the island. The lighthouse is over 200 years old and visitors can climb to the top for a great view of the island. The museum nearby gives more information about the lighthouse. Fort Pulaski is a Civil War-era fort built to protect the United States coastline and was the site of a battle of the same name. The fort is well-preserved and offers guided tours, as well as a visitor center and special exhibits. The fort is actually on Cockspur Island just to the west of Tybee. While there, you can also visit the Cockspur Island Lighthouse.

At the Tybee Marine Science Center, you can get in on guided beach walks to explore both the beaches and marshes of Tybee. There are plenty of other activities on the island as well, including dolphin watching, fishing, kayaking and more. Tybee is also located only about 20 miles from Savannah and it's an easy drive by taxi or car. Savannah is full of even more activities and attractions, including Forsyth Park, River Street, the City Market and much more. It's also home to a range of museums, historic architecture and plenty of fantastic restaurants.

Southern Belle Pool

Our guests have access to our beautiful, heated pool that is located on Tybee Island. For our Savannah properties it is a scenic 25-minute drive through Wilmington and Whitemarsh Island, taking you over the Savannah River Delta onto Tybee Island.

Guests with Pets

If you would like to bring along your dog(s) during your stay, we do have some pet-friendly properties allowing up to 2 dogs and the total weight cannot exceed 50lbs for a pet fee of $130. This notice is not an indication the home you are currently viewing is pet-friendly.

Long-Term Stays

For our long-term stays, 30 days or more, we require a deposit and our office will reach out to you for details. For 60 days or more long-term stays, we require an additional clean.

We enjoyed staying here. The location was great. Walking to the beach took less than 10 minutes. The screened in porch with a view of the lighthouse was everyone’s favorite. Our teens enjoyed their own TV and sitting space. The addition of the pool will make it ideal. Would love to stay again.

A group of eight ladies joined together to spend quality time on your beautiful island and in Savannah. The General George Marshall house had plenty of room for gathering, knitting, cooking, talking -- and the neighbourhood was perfect for morning and afternoon walks. The house was very welcoming and bright -- and we loved the lighthouse right outside the front door! Thank you for a beautiful respite -- we love Tybee!

Great home and location for a family beach week. Plenty of room to spread out in this house with a great kitchen / open area. The home was well stocked. The front porch had a nice breeze and shade in the afternoon with a fantastic view of the Tybee Lighthouse right across the street. A short walk to the North beach entrance so no need to worry about parking. The North Beach Bar and Grill fried shrimp dinner is a must. We would definitely stay here again.

We were holding a ministry retreat for our church. The accommodations worked well, having plenty of space for teaching and fellowshipping. The kitchen was perfect for including the person/persons preparing the food with the conversations happening in the other rooms. The beds worked out perfectly for our people and couples as well.

Everything was wonderful at this beach house we stayed in for St. PAtty's weekend. The hosts were very accommodating and provided us with everything we needed for the duration of our stay. I do recommend staying at this nice house on North Beach. It is located in a great location that is close to food, shops, and drinks!

This house was perfect! The size of the house was perfect for the people we had, and even accommodated a couple friends who joined later. Highly recommended if you're looking to stay on Tybee for a friend or family vacation! Additionally you can fit plenty of vehicles in the garage/driveway so that's another huge plus about this home!!!

The General George Marshall home is the perfect location for a fun and relaxing stay in Tybee Island. We had a family reunion there with young children and it was perfect. We loved being so close to the ocean and the lighthouse, as well as the Marine Science center and the bar by the water! It was nice to be able to walk to all of those places. This house was very clean and accommodating for our needs.

This was such an amazing property. The decor was up-to-date. The neighbors were very friendly. It was very conveniently located to the beach. This property in particular was not far from Savannah. I mean this property was just so amazing. We are still talking about it. It was a bit hot outside but the air in the house made it feel like winter which was perfect. Even the downstairs room was cool and comfortable. There were 9 of us in the house and it was perfect for us. There is a Kroger maybe 2 minutes off
