Savannah is full of Decadent Desserts Savannah and atmospheric flavor, and the fare at Lulu’s Chocolate Bar is full of sweet flavors to delight your taste buds. Dessert in downtown Savannah doesn’t get any better than at Lulu’s, which has been voted the best in the city by readers of both Savannah Magazine and Connect Magazine for five straight years. This dessert restaurant is perfect for an evening of delicious treats.

Lulu’s Chocolate Bar Savannah

To begin with, Lulu’s Chocolate Bar has a self-titled retro-glam decor that creates a fun mood the moment you walk through the door. There’s plenty of chocolate and other mouth-watering goodness, but Lulu’s also offers a full bar featuring specialty martinis that are practically desserts in themselves. Consider the Milky Way Martini, the Chocolate Covered Orange, the White Chocolate Martini, or the Lulutini with chocolate vodka, two liqueurs, and real chocolate. Champagne cocktails are another specialty, and unique drinks, such as chocolate beer and hot chocolate with an extra kick, make Lulu’s much more than the usual cocktail place.

In addition to drink offerings, Lulu’s hosts live music twice a week. Each Tuesday and Sunday evening, the restaurant gives patrons an experience in sound from musicians who add to the atmosphere rather than overwhelm it. Local Savannah Musicians can contact Lulu’s with music samples if they’re interested in joining the fun.

A Gourmet Selection Sure to Thrill Chocolate Lovers

Now, about those desserts, which are the true stars at Lulu’s: Each dessert is baked in-house every day for the freshest experience possible. The gourmet selection is sure to thrill chocolate lovers, but there’s also plenty for those interested in other flavors. Specials change weekly although there may be new surprises at any time.

Lulu’s Chocolate Bar Savannah offers a wealth of extravagant treats, such as the Mousse Tower with creamy layers on top of a chocolate disk. The amazing Rapture Sundae is enough for two or three with a chocolate bowl brimming with ice cream, frozen chocolate mousse and fresh berries all topped with a variety of side sauces and optional liqueurs. Order any single choice of crème brulee, or try all three available flavors in a decadent sampler. Several kinds of handmade truffles will have you absolutely melting, but the dessert pleasures don’t stop there.

Your Sweet Tooth Will Thank You

For a simpler mood that still goes beyond the ordinary, try the light and delicious cheesecakes, the specialty brownies, a slice of one or more rich layer cakes, chocolate fondue with several dipping options, and flavorful fruit and other tarts and pies. You won’t know what to try first.

Lulu’s Chocolate Bar opens at 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and at 2 p.m. Friday through Sunday. It closes at 11:30 p.m. except on Friday and Saturday when the desserts and drinks flow until 2 a.m. Children are welcome with their parents, but it’s adults only after 10 p.m. Lulu’s doesn’t take reservations and this popular eatery is often crowded, so plan to arrive early to enjoy the best dessert in downtown Savannah. Or, call in advance for party trays, gift boxes, or whole desserts. Your sweet tooth will thank you.
