So you’ve rented a vacation rental in Savannah. Now what? What should you do during your stay? How about slip on your dancing shoes? Though just a medium-sized town, Savannah offers a wide variety of dancing styles ranging from swing to salsa to ballroom to your typical nightlife club dancing. Here’s just a few of the awesome places we know about perfect for all ages!

Shag

If you want something a little more relaxed than your typical club environment, head to the Double’s Night Club for shag with the Savannah Shag Club on Wednesday nights! No partner is necessary and the crowd here typically are in the 50s.

Swing

If swing dancing is more your thing, you head to Double’s Night Club on Thursday nights for some dancing with the Savannah Swing Cats. There’s a free lesson from 7:30-8:00pm, then open dancing from 8:00-10:00pm. No partner necessary.

Salsa

Also on Thursday nights, ladies & gents come dressed to impressed, and Savannah’s most classy and upscale night club SubZero comes to life. At this ice-themed decorated venue, you’ll find swaying hips moving to the rhythm of sultry salsa, merengue, and bachata music while Salsa Savannah heats up the floor. For $15, even those with two left feet can learn how to salsa during the beginner salsa lesson from 7-8pm followed by more advanced classes after. Be prepared for a late night as the free open dancing begins at 10pm and goes until 3am. The multi-cultural crowd here typically ranges from ages late 20s to early 50s, and our Marketing & Sales Manager Candace, pictured at the right, can attest to the blast you’ll have at this venue.

Ballroom

If you have visions of Dancing Like the Stars in your head and happen to be in town the third Saturday of the month, check out USA Dance of Savannah, a group consisting of dancers from many of the ballroom studios in the area. First there’s a lesson from 7-8pm for $10 followed by open dancing until 10:30pm. If you’re not in town on that precise magical weekend, Essi’s Ballroom Dance Studio offers group lessons every Friday night for $10. From 8-9:45pm you can learn many different styles of ballroom dance followed by open social dancing afterwards until 10pm. Ages of the instructors range from mid 20s-young 30s, while students range from the same to their 70s. No partner is necessary and the environment is friendly and welcoming!

Nite Club

With three levels of entertainment and dancing to choose from, Club 51 Degrees is the place to be on a Saturday night. The first floor features Latin music, the second hip hop, and the third dubstep. No need to be bored – just move on to another floor! Each floor is adequately equipped with a bar to keep the fun times flowing. The dress is casual, but they do enforce a dress code on ball caps and flip flops so be sure to dress to impress. Don’t forget your cash or credit card as there’s a $10 cover to get in.

Whatever your flavor of dance may be, Savannah has it all, and Southern Belle Vacation Rentals is the place to stay while enjoying some nights out on the town!
